The country you live in not only dictates how powerful or restrictive your passport is, but how much you have to pay for it.
Based on data from Compare the Market, the visualization below shows the world's 10 cheapest passports, as well as their validity periods. The figures are in US dollars and are accurate as of April 2024.
The least expensive passport in the world is the United Arab Emirates's, which costs just $17.63 and is valid for five years. India's passport follows behind, at $18.01 โ although it lasts twice as long as the UAE's.
Both of Spain's passports cost $32.17, but the one for people aged 30 or above is better value, thanks to its 10-year validity.
